Mission of the role

Implement HSE management systems in the operational context in line with company HSE guidelines and standards.
Ensure effective management of all HSE issues within the assigned area.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Develop and ensure implementation of the HSE Management System in compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable standards.
Ensure that all site activities performed by Saipem are executed in strict accordance with Saipem HSE standards, plans and procedures.
Establish and maintain HSE monitoring and audit programmes for all phases of operations.
Promote environmental and safety awareness across the workforce and conduct regular site HSE meetings with supervisors, workers and subcontractors.
Provide HSE support and advice to project and site management teams.
Interface with clients and relevant authorities on HSE matters.
Ensure protection of environmentally sensitive areas and implement environmental monitoring and audit programmes.
Develop occupational safety risk assessments and participate in accident/incident investigations.
Ensure effective implementation of project HSE training and site induction programs.
Promote periodic site HSE reviews to drive continual improvement.

Candidate profile

Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g. HSE, Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline).
Strong HSE technical knowledge in oil and gas operations (onshore/offshore), including risk assessment, audits, investigations and ISO-based systems.
Proven experience in coordinating HSE activities on complex projects, ideally in Africa or remote/industrial locations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work with multinational teams, subcontractors, clients and authorities.
Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
